Los Angeles, CA

The purpose of this project is to develop a design concept for a new skate house in Venice, CA. "Riding Waves" is a multipurpose project where people can experience indoor skating, shopping, and enjoy a variety of local events.

The house is divided into three separate spaces. The first one includes a shopping area, the second includes a lounge with dining, and the third a state of art indoor skateboarding park.

The design was born in appreciation of surfing since riding waves has likely existed since humans began swimming in the ocean. Some surfers had the idea to transfer the feeling of riding waves onto the streets to defy times of days with a gentle swell. The first skateboarders were called "asphalt surfers" for a reason.
